just06.jpg  We are excited to begin another school year.  The Spartan Staff spent the summer in professional development continuing to learn more about Springboard, Advanced Placement courses, and AVID.  Our educational team is ready to begin a wonderful new school year.
We have also implemented a new schedule for this year.  It is a modified block schedule, allowing for longer periods of time for projects and lessons.   The schedule includes an access period on Wednesdays, that we are calling EXCEL time.  Students will have a 30 minute period of time during which they will be able meet with their teachers for additional help.  The school day will finish for students at 1:45 on Wednesdays only.  We will be offering some additional program options from 1:45-2:45 beginning after Labor Day.  We hope that students will choose to participate in these programs.  We are excited by the opportunities that exist for all students this year.
Here’s to a great year!

Another Spartan Victory

Character, etiquette, and style come to TJ in a grant from Wells Fargo

The cost?  Priceless.  Wells Fargo Bank awarded two $2,000 grants for both both Interact Club and DECA intended for character and etiquette development. [Read more...]

La Vida Loca in Barcelona

A bitter-sweet tale of two American friends.
by Martha Alvarez

VCB_Small_1.jpg    The movie Vicky Cristina Barcelona narrates a summer in the life of Vicky (Rebecca Hall), and Cristina (Scarlett Johansson). They are both looking for a change of scenery and decide to go and visit one of Vicky’s childhood friends in the beautiful city of Barcelona. This movie was the most bizarre two hours that I have spent in a movie theater so far this year. The acting was amazing, but I really can’t say much for the story. [Read more...]
