Gaming with Gonzo

Call of Duty: Black Ops

This game is insane! It is December 6th and i have been playing this game almost non-stop. It is a game i can relax too. The story line was insane, bringing about intense discussions about conspiracies about the Cold War era. The graphics are an updated version of Modern Warfare 2. The balance of each weapon is perfectly set, and Treyarch has created a system to really bring what the community wants. They have fixed any glitch that has come up from the community. The only big complaint is the servers, which are slow and a little laggy, but that will be fixed in the next coming months. This game should get better and better as more more and more people gain access to it. Buy it TJ; it is something new and exciting to an old franchise.

Modern Warfare 2

Due to me having my wisdom teeth pulled out on Thursday, I  had a lot of time to sit down and enjoy video games. While  playing, I got bored with Fifa 11 and decided to play a game  that is thoroughly enjoyed by many people, Modern Warfare  2. Yes I said it, Modern Warfare 2. This game is hated by  many folk out there due to its cheap noobs and try-hards that  take the enjoyment out of the game.
After a three month hiatus from the game, I picked it up and played the story all the way through, from beginning to end, without any stops. I have to say, it is still a great storyline. It has plenty of moments that make your heart race and plenty of high action moments. It does not top the story of its predecessor Modern Warfare, due to the fact Modern Warfare was the ground-breaking game that finally gave everyone an insight to the type of equipment the military was using.
Modern Warfare 2 still has its online issue, but when you sit down and relax by just playing the game, it can still have quite some entertainment.

The Ocarina of Time

As I sit here and think of the next video game review to write, I think it’s time to take it retro to an older, better game. Yes I know Fallout: New Vegas has just been released, but due to financial issues I am getting that possibly around Christmas time. Anyway, lets talk about the first video game I fell in love with, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Yes, this game came out a long time ago in the galaxy of Hyrule. This game brings back many memories of me playing the Nintendo 64 with my half-brother, Orlando. Bless his heart I do miss those days. I currently still have the gold edition, and currently it is in my Nintendo 64, and I probably will play it over again starting tonight. When I imagine Link, I imagine him from this game, with his Bow and Arrow, Giant Shield, Giant Sword, trademark Sword, and of course, his lovely boomerang. Ganondorf still looks like he did from the old games with the grand pig-like features and the strikingly evil human features.  The quest through the various temples was challenging, and still to this day features the best work of the temples. And who can forget playing the Ocarina? Man, I wanted to buy an ocarina just to play those Ocarina songs from the game. The graphics are still decent considering it was released in 1998. Anyone who has ever played this will agree that it is by far the greatest game to be made. I am also writing this article because I have read this game is being remade for the Nintendo 3DS. Ocarina of Time in 3D? Count me in and sign me up!

Halo Reach

Alright, its time to kick Video Games of the school year off the right way. A month into school, the biggest and possibly best, was released on September 14th, 2010, Halo: Reach. By far this game is unrealistic; I go over to friend’s houses just to play the game. The campaign was emotionally charged, finally showing more character to the Spartans. The graphics are superb. The soundtrack of the game flows perfectly as you traverse Reach with your super-human friends. Actually, the song Deliver Hope from the Deliver Hope trailer has this beautiful harmonious hum, and it is played on my ipod daily. With a tragic ending filled with a healthy sign of hope, Halo: Reach will be the last game from game developers Bungie, and by far their best. I am pleased to say this game is absolutely fantastic.
