Ups and Downs for the Spartans
February 22, 2008
A tough win comes with a tough loss for the Lady Spartans.
The Lady Spartans took on a tough team from South on Friday, February 15th and they were able to pull out their third win in a row by a score of 46-34.
The game was clearly a defensive battle, as both of the teams were held to very low scores. In the first half, both squads were severely limited in the points category. The Spartans made a total of 21 points and the Rebels were only able to put together 15. The lead proved to be just what the doctor ordered for the Spartans as their defense was able to hold off a late game rush by the Rebels. The girls looked to build off this three game win streak when another tough team from Montbello would come to town on Tuesday, February 20th.
The Lady Spartans were fresh off of their tremendous three game win streak as the powerful Warriors arrived at TJ. It seemed like the Spartans were a little slow as the game started up, and the Montbelo girls took advantage by jumping out to a quick lead. The Ladies had a tough time recovering, as the Warriors were always able to match what TJ had to offer. The Spartan offense never got going, and they never really got into a rhythm during the game. The Warriors ended TJ's three game win streak, as they lost 78-42.
The girls will play their last game of the regular season this Friday as the Vikings from North come to TJ at 7.
