Close Call Against Kennedy

Offensive Struggles for Spartan girls.
by Keenan Moore
The Lady Spartans took on a powerful Kennedy Commanders team and they were not able to pull out a win as they lost 52-39.
This game proved to be one of the closest games that the Lady Spartans have played all season. The two teams started off going back and forth with basket coming after basket. The Spartan defense continued to hold strong, which kept the Commanders to a below 50% field goal percentage. It looked like the defense was ready to bring the goods to the table, and they were hoping for their offense to put the Commanders away.
The Spartan offense, however, could not seem to really find their rhythm as they too were held to below a 50% field goal percentage. There were still bright points in the game as the Spartans tried to make a late game comeback with consecutive three-pointers, but the Commander lead would never be diminished as they were able to answer the Spartan threes with a 10-0 run.
This setback hasn’t gotten the Spartans down though, as they are looking to improve throughout the rest of their league games. They'll take on West Cowboys on Tuesday at 7:00 at West.
