Spartans enjoy an easy win as they prepare for a showdown with East.

The reason the match was so easy is because there were only three wrestlers who competed: Matt Norlander, Peter Taylor, and Freshman Robert McMacken . The Warriors were only able to put three wrestlers on the mat. If a team does not have a wrestler for a certain weight class then it qualifies as a forfeit and the opposing team receives a pin-fall, or 6 points.  The Spartans took eleven forfeits for 66 total points. Justin Tara said, “Even though Montebello only were able to put three kids on the floor, it was good to get another league win before we go against East, which will decide the city title.”
In the three matches that the Spartans competed in they went 1-2. Peter Taylor was the only one to be victorious for the Spartans. However, this was Norlander’s first match in almost a month.
“There is not much you can do when the other team does not have enough guys, but a win's a win and we'll take it,” said Senior leader Michael Hawkins.
Clearly, the Spartans are on a roll as they take their momentum from the win towards their pursuit of a City Championship.
