Senior Matthew Mankoff one of twelve recipients of prestigious honor.
TJ football starting center and star student Matthew Mankoff is being recognized as one of the top football scholar-athletes in the state of Colorado, being chosen by the National Football Foundation for the College Hall of Fame 2007 Football Scholar-Athlete Award.
Mankoff is receiving this honor based on his hard work and dedication to football, academics, and the community during the 2007 season. Among the 17,000 football players in the state of Colorado, he is one of only twelve recipients of the award. Each honoree’s name will be recorded into the College Football Hall of Fame in South Bend, Indiana. Mankoff and the other state winners will be recognized for their achievements at a banquet on February 18th at the Denver West Marriott.
This award is one of the top honors a football player can achieve, and through his hard work on and off the football field Mankoff has brought honor to TJ football yet again. "I am really excited to receive this award," he said. "I have put a lot of time and effort into football and school over the past four years, and it is great to be recognized for what I have been able to do." Mankoff has been one of the many standout players for the 11-1 Spartan football team this season, and this award shows that TJ possesses one of the most successful student athletes in the state.
