TJ boys' soccer gets their first win of the season.

soccer_web.gif    TJ boys' soccer upset the Olympians from class 5A Gateway in a 4-2 thriller onThursday, September 6. TJ was out for revenge after losing to Ridgeview Academy in disappointing fashion their last game and, unfortunately for Gateway, they were what stood between the Spartans and a victory.
TJ was energized and defeated the Olympians by a final score of 4-2. The goal scorers included Jorge Jacal, who has scored one goal in each of the past 2 games, Wesley Cordes who also has scored in each of the last 2 games, Adam Rose and Raul Sanchez. Jacal and Keenan Moore also contributed by having assists of their own.
However, without the sensational goal keeping of first-year starter Keith Warren, the Spartans offensive production would have been all for naught. Warren, who was making his first start as keeper after being moved from attacker, was sensational, allowing only two goals on 11 shots. With a much better saves-to-goal ratio than in the previous games, Warren gave TJ great support in the net.
TJ hopes to continue its winning ways when they take on the Rams of Rampart Tuesday, September 11th at 3:30 at TJ. Rampart comes into the game holding a record of 2-1
